One of the most asked questions from people moving here. 
Yes, it gets hot and humid here in the South.
Humidity can be high throughout the summer months and into the latter part of September. We don't have that ocean breeze so it can get sticky. 
Tornadoes can also be a part of life here and many who are concerned about the possibility of Tornadoes in their area install storm shelters or purchase homes with basements. 
Winter doesn't usually last long here. Sometimes we will only have rain through the winter, other times we could get snow combined with ice. Tennessee is pretty much on the line where hot air clashes with cold air, so winter can vary quite a bit.
